Kurumi Inoue, Windows International, Japan Manager My responsibility in Microsoft is to work on validating local experiences for Windows client, Windows server and Internet explorer. I have been working for Microsoft more than 20 years and all of my career in the company have been with Internationalization to deliver the world ready products in our global market. Thus, Japanese typography and Text rendering areas are also my priority scope. Having a deep understandings on eBooks standardization discussion up to date is very important for my role in Microsoft. Starting with this April, I was assigned to attend a Study Group of the Japanese Government (the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) on vertical text layout specification discussions including for HTML and CSS. Therefore, I would like to use this eBbooks workshop participant opportunity to acquire the latest eBooks functionality requirements, understand the backgrounds of global key stakeholders and leverage discussion context for our further consideration opportunities. And myself, as the representative from Microsoft Japan, I would also love to establish a good relationships among participants who from multi types of industries to engage them with proactive involvements.
