== Linked Data Platform (LDP) vs SPARQL Graph Store HTTP Protocol (GSP) ==

From the start [http://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-http-rdf-update/ GSP] was identified as a specification LDP overlaps with. The Working Group therefore had a look at how GSP and the [http://www.w3.org/Submission/2012/02/ Linked Data Basic Profile] submission compare and discussed what ought to be done.

The WG concluded that the two specifications aren't very different but because they have different goals they cannot be fully reconciled. As of September 2012, LDP is merely an Editor's draft while GSP is in Last Call with a WG ready to disband so, there is basically no way GSP can be modified in any significant way to align with LDP. If any alignment is possible it ought be done on the LDP side.

Based on this, the LDP WG decided on its September 17th, 2012 call that it will seek to align LDP to GSP as much as possible.

== Linked Data Platform (LDP) vs SPARQL Graph Store HTTP Protocol (GSP) ==

From the start [http://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-http-rdf-update/ GSP] was identified as a specification LDP overlaps with. The Working Group therefore had a look at how GSP and the [http://www.w3.org/Submission/2012/02/ Linked Data Basic Profile] submission compare and discussed what ought to be done.

The WG concluded that the two specifications aren't very different but because they have different goals they cannot be fully reconciled. As of September 2012, LDP is merely an Editor's draft while GSP is in Last Call with a WG ready to disband so, there is basically no way GSP can be modified in any significant way to align with LDP. If any alignment is possible it ought be done on the LDP side.

Based on this, the LDP WG decided on its September 17th, 2012 call that it will seek to align LDP to GSP as much as possible.

== Linked Data Platform (LDP) vs SPARQL Graph Store HTTP Protocol (GSP) ==

From the start [http://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-http-rdf-update/ GSP] was identified as a specification LDP overlaps with. The Working Group therefore had a look at how GSP and the [http://www.w3.org/Submission/2012/02/ Linked Data Basic Profile] submission compare and discussed what ought to be done.

The WG concluded that the two specifications aren't very different but because they have different goals they cannot be fully reconciled. As of September 2012, LDP is merely an Editor's draft while GSP is in Last Call with a WG ready to disband so, there is basically no way GSP can be modified in any significant way to align with LDP. If any alignment is possible it ought be done on the LDP side.

Based on this, the LDP WG decided on its September 17th, 2012 call that it will seek to align LDP to GSP as much as possible.

The first Face to Face meeting will be at [http://www.w3.org/2012/10/TPAC/ TPAC] on Thursday and Friday, November 1 and 2, in Lyon, France.

Note: In response to a request to have a US East coast venue for those who can't go to France, [http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ldp-wg/2012Aug/0001.html Oracle offered to host a concurrent meeting in New York City]. However, because the meeting in France is part of TPAC we basically have no flexibility regarding the meeting schedule. Lunches and breaks are beyond our control. This makes hosting a concurrent meeting in New York far less interesting because little overlap could be managed due to time difference.

Additionally, remote participation should be possible via phone+irc.
