sean: review open issues
... Profile Update

<sean> The Simple Online Delivery profile is focused on streamlined delivery of closed captions on the web. This interoperability profile supports core TTML features to deliver legacy formats such as CEA-608 and -708 content, and is targeted primarily for delivery in US markets.

ACTION-80:

<trackbot> ACTION-80 Create statement of use case and regional naming on SDP notes added

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-tt/2012Aug/0016.html

<scribe> ACTION: Glen [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/08/16-tt-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Sorry, bad ACTION syntax

Update SDP to reflect addition to close ACTION:80

mike: Use term Internet rather than web.

sean: Legacy formats, "deliver content originating from legacy formats."

<scribe> ACTION: Glenn [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/08/16-tt-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Sorry, bad ACTION syntax

Close ACTION-80.

<scribe> ACTION: Glenn. Add 2 changes agreed. Use ACTION-80 text. Change "on the web" to "on the Internet." Change "legacy formats such as CEA-608 and -708 content" to "deliver content originating legacy formats such as CEA-608 and -708 content". [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/08/16-tt-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Sorry, couldn't find user - Glenn.

ISSUE-72

<sean> https://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/72

sean: Proposal may not make sense anymore.

Review what makes sense for the 2nd edition.

mike: Separate smooth scrolling.

ScribeNicke: mmartin3

<scribe> ScribeNick: mmartin3

mike: Dynamic flow

sean: Not supported in TTML 1.0. We don't have scroll property any longer. Fixed mechanism exists - overflow.

Missing text will overflow or be clipped by the box.

Proposal suggests we re-add scroll property.

mike: Need to address what happens when you have a <br>.

sean: Some text will be clipped out. Allow animation using inline scroll (XSL-FO). To preclude lines missing from flow region.

mike: In 2nd edition, we need to clarify feature and consider for TTML 1.1.

sean: Clarifying paragraphs.

ISSUE-138 Ruby support OPEN Standard extension to support W3C ruby markup

sean: Renders may not be able to handle. Add to TTML namespace for 1.1. One option is to model more closely how this is done in HTML5 and CSS3.

mike: SMPTE has feature list for theatrical subtitle support. This makes this Issue-138 real.

sean: Important for internationalization.

pal: Liaison will allow for SMPTE input to this question.

OPEN

mike: Features overlapped. Other issues.

sean: Work with Glenn.

<trackbot> ISSUE-158 -- background images -- open

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/158

Should we reference 2052-1?

sean: ACTION to respond to SMPTE.

<trackbot> ISSUE-159 -- Text orientation in I18n script processing -- open

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/159

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/167

mike: Attributes that are not inheritable and have no semantics on the child elements, we should prohibit them. Driven by origin and extent.
... TTML 1.1 issue.

ISSUE-168?

<trackbot> ISSUE-168 -- Padding on tt:p and tt:span elements -- open

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/issues/168

sean: Have each line as separate paragraph and caption.

OK without user overrides which FCC requires.

Add style properties to do this more directly.

mike: Padding function on the line.

sean: Add to <p> and <span>.

mike: What happens when you do an animation? Is this ambiguous.

Will review further.
