Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has been active in the Mobile Web Initiative, and we take a simple position on the future of off-line Web applications:
All of the stakeholders need to come to a consensus on a packaging and deployment solution for off-line Web applications which everyone can agree to support. Elimination of the current fragmentation in this solution space will allow application developers to move forward and will allow an off-line Web applications ecosystem to fully develop.
RIT does not need a separate Workshop, but does wish to attend and to actively support consensus-reaching work in this area.
