data transfer protocol for bi-directional & full-duplex connection
Web Workers:
multi-process capability within a local Web browser

Discussion about several issues

Extensibility:
how to extend HTML capability without namespace mechanism
Various UIs:
not only GUI but also voice, handwriting, gesture, etc.
Various devices/purposes:
including printing and eBook
Profiles/Modules/Widgets:
needs from industry for subsets of features for mobile devices, home appliances, etc.

What's going on?

local IG is useful:
- reducing "language barrier"
- promoting W3C's presence in local communities
Kick-off meeting - January 22:
- more than 150 participation (attendees list)
- panel discussion by all the major Web browser vendors
Hot discussion on eBook and Japanese Layout:
- collaboratively working with I18N, CSS and JLTF
- need collaboration with Korea and China as well
