ISSUE-24: Should all terms be case-sensitive in HTML5 and XHTML?
Case-sensitive terms in HTML5
Should all terms be case-sensitive in HTML5 and XHTML?
- State:
- CLOSED
- Product:
- RDFa 1.1 Core
- Raised by:
- Shane McCarron
- Opened on:
- 2010-05-13
- Description:
- All RDFa 1.1 Processors force any prefix specified via xmlns: and @prefix to lowercase. Since comparison of terms in @rel and @rev in HTML5 are case-insensitive, should RDFa Processors force these terms to lower-case as well to ensure HTML5 and XHTML compatibility?

Related notes:
Forcing terms to lowercase would be a disaster for this use case:
<a vocab="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" rel="conformsTo" href="http://example.org/foo">Conforms to Foo</a>
We can't just lower-case any term in @rel or @rev.
Closed as per Resolution 2 from the meeting on 22 July.
