The issues

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html

Subtopic @name

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE

Steven: I believe this is dealt with

Subtopic: Informative references

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE1

Steven: I believe also dealt with

Subopic: 5th Ed

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE2

Sahne: We had agreed we couldn't do that

Steven: Yes, it is deliberate

Subtopic: SotD

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE3

Steven: This is a typo s/A/C/

<scribe> ACTION: Shane to fix the SotD to refer to Appx C [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/06/24-xhtml-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-87 - Fix the SotD to refer to Appx C [on Shane McCarron - due 2009-07-01].

Subtopic: Appx C

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE4

Steven: This was always an informative appx, meant to advise on practise, and moving it to a note is much more suitable for such information

Shane: We need to update that note

Steven: That's the whole point
... Because people were assuming Appx C was normative, and because it was part of the TR, only made for problems
... since it made it difficult to update

Shane: Bjoern is one of the worst offenders in taking this appx as gospel

Subtopic: Broken links and xml:lang

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE5

Steven: He should have talked to us

Shane: I put the anchors back
... they go to a pointer to the new doc, which has the same anchors, so it is easy for him to update his document

Steven: We don't say that it's compulsory to use both lang and xml:lang

Shane: True, though we can still update the doc

<scribe> ACTION: Shane to update use of lang and xml:lang [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/06/24-xhtml-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-88 - Update use of lang and xml:lang [on Shane McCarron - due 2009-07-01].

Subtopic: Lack of nesting rules

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE6

Steven: Not true. He's wrong/ We use exclusions in the formal definitions of the modules

Shane: Is this a new issue, or one he has mentioned before?

Steven: He doesn't include a link...

Subtopic: No nesting rules for Ruby

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE7

Steven: We just reference the Ruby spec
... which includes the exclusions.
... So he's wrong

Subtopic: Issue 9

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE8

Steven: One of his URIs is broken. Need to work out what he is talking about
... maybe about the name attribute
... it's this one: http://htmlwg.mn.aptest.com/cgi-bin/voyager-issues/XHTML-1.0-SE?user=guest;selectid=6504;statetype=-1;upostype=-1;changetype=-1;restype=-1
... which is the same as the issue 1 above

Subtopic: References

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE9

Steven: I think this has been addressed

Shane: It has

Subtopic: DOCTYPE Optional

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE10

Shane: What do you want to do?
... This was TimBL's idea. I disagree with optional DOCTYPEs myself

Steven: What do we do?

Shane: Change it back

Steven: OK by me
... He calls this a process violation
... Change back?

Shane: Sure

<scribe> ACTION: Shane to make doctype required [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/06/24-xhtml-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-89 - Make doctype required [on Shane McCarron - due 2009-07-01].

Subtopic: @version

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE12

Shane: We don't require it
... it is in HTML4 and XHTML 1.0
... and deprecation isn't a problem; you can reprecate
... but what change would he like to make?

Steven: True, not actually an issue in that case

Subtopic: Change not mentioned

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE13

Shane: Modualrization widened the datatype of @version to CDATA
... so in RDFa we used something more friendly
... Not sure which change he is referring to...

Steven: We should investigate if there is a case to mention this
... I'm not convinced this really is a change in the sense he means it

Subtopic: @lang

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2009/bjoern-issues.html#ISSUE14

Steven: He points to a message from someone outside the group and claims that that is our reason
... but it's not

Shane: It is not a reason, it is a cause

Steven: We asked accessibility people if it would help and they said yes

Shane: I have to leave now
