Davy Van Deursen received the master degree in computer science from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2005. He joined the Multimedia Lab of Ghent University in 2005 where he is currently working toward the PhD degree. His PhD thesis handles about generic, metadata-driven multimedia content adaptation methods (e.g., BFlavor and NinSuna). Furthermore, he is involved in Mobixx, a spin-off of IBBT and Ghent University, which is a technology platform that is capable of creating mobile web applications based upon existing desktop web applications in a very cost-efficient and user friendly way. His research interests and areas of publication include video coding, media content adaptation, media content presentation, semantic web technologies, and mobile web publishing.
