Initial Identification

The following table shows the tags that had the broadest level of support in the group, based on a fast 'straw poll', and also the number of formats for which there is a mapping of that tag. In the following table, "Entity" is either a "Resource" (abstract concept) or a "Representation" (instance/file); It can be a single object or composed of fragments.

Next Steps

Review the selected attributes, see

  • whether there are missing attributes that we should add to the table
  • whether there are attributes that should be combined or split
  • how the selected attributes map from all the given input formats; whether data conversion is needed etc.
(if the call is to retrieve X and your input format is Y, then do Z)
  • is the attribute expected to have a unique value (only 0 or 1 returned result), or a plurality?
  • there are attributes (contributor, relation) where the 'nature' terms need a set definition
  • each attribute needs a bit more text on the value, explaining what it should be, to guide those doing mapping

See how the selected set helps solve the use cases

Write a document that recommends that content creators put the suitable support for these attributes in media resources
