EARL Guide

<scribe> scribe: shadi

Primary audience: developers of tools such as accessibility checkers, validators, or other quality assurance tools

Secondary audience: metadata applications, accessibility researchers, semantic Web practitioners

Purpose: describe how to use the EARL 1.0 Schema, HTTP-in-RDF, Content-in-RDF, and PointerMethods to report evaluation results

Purpose 1: describe how to use the EARL 1.0 Schema

Purpose 2: describe how to use HTTP-in-RDF, Content-in-RDF, and PointerMethods to supplement EARL 1.0 Schema

It is *NOT* the purpose to teach developers RDF

We also want to describe some of the benefits and use-cases for EARL

Approach 1: provide a tutorial-like introduction

Approach 2: provide several code examples that build onto each other

Approach 3: provide more background on some of the key classes, however should not list all classes exhaustively

<MikeS> introduction includes 1) audience, 2) purpose of guide and purpose fo EARL, 3) overall structure of the guide

<MikeS> and maybe some sample use cases

<MikeS> Section 2: What is EARL: 1) purpose of EARL, 2) use cases

<MikeS> 3) possibly EARL 1.0 Schema v. supplementary documents (eg HTTP in RDF, Content in RDF, Pointer Methods in RDF) - these are independent but related

<MikeS> change documents to vocabularies

http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/2008/11/guide-outline.html

<MikeS> 4) how EARL fits into a testing process

http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/2008/11/guide-outline.html
