The Web of Things
The Ubiquitous Web Applications Working Group was launched on 30 March 2007 and replaces the former Device Indepence Activity. The Ubiquitous Web Applications Activity seeks to extend the Web to all kinds of devices including sensors and effectors. Application areas include home monitoring and control, home entertainment, office equipment, mobile and automotive. The new Working Group will build upon existing work on device independent authoring and delivery contexts by the former Device Indepence Activity, together with new work on remote eventing, device coordination and intent-based events.
