ISSUE-138

dateTime

RESOLVED: Name of dateTime datatype

State:
CLOSED
Product:
Raised by:
Ian Horrocks
Opened on:
2008-08-04
Description:
We need to decide whether the dateTime datatype used in the OWL spec will be called xsd:dateTime or owl:dateTime. A reason for choosing the former is that it is familiar and may already be in use in OWL ontologies. A reason for choosing the latter is that the OWL datatype is not exactly the same as the xsd version (in OWL, timezone is mandatory).

Related notes:

2008-10-24 11:06:53: Close with an editors' note stating that we will use XSD name when they determine what it is; also note that this is at risk -- we may need to pick a new name if they don't make it to CR on time.
