how'zat?

brb, quick bio break

<LeeF> ericP, did you let Ralph and Steve know where we are?

<LeeF> Phone dying - finding a new one

<LeeF> general DAWG comments list: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg-comments/

<steve> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/issues

<scribe> Scribe: ericP

<steve> ACTION: EricP to update disposition of comments list with 2 comments [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/09/21-dawg-minutes.html#action01]

-> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg-comments/2007Aug/0005.html Stu's request to allow arbitrary XML embedded in results

LeeF: dev of XMLRes happened early in WG life
... apart from removal of @ordered and @distinct, stable since jun,jul 2005
... this comment got a response saying that this feature request would make parsing much harder
... expect that WG will have neither energy or desire to take this up now
... precedent that WG satisfied with XMLRes, as well as concearned about schedule
... even if they did take discuss it, expect that the feature wouldn't be adopted based on technical complexity
... exchanged mail with commentor, who said that he "only broght it up to show some users would like it"
... this feature could be added to a later SPARQL

<scribe> ACTION: LeeF to record Tuesdays disposition ... [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/09/21-dawg-minutes.html#action02]

-> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg-comments/2007Sep/0011.html AlanR's request for metadata

LeeF: evolved to a request for a sparql/head/meta element
... echoed by 2 or 3 others on the list
... WG discussed this on last Tue and decided not to take it up
... ericP asked AlanR if he was content with the "too late" response. verbal response was "yes"

Steve: impl status? report?

LeeF: almost every SPARQL language implentation also implements this XML Results format
... test suite uses XMLResults so we can prove implementation that way

Steve: what's your CR duration?

LeeF: I proposed 3 weeks
... can do 4 weeks

Steve: checking process, but since you have at least 10 impls, i'm not concearned with a short CR

<LeeF> "# Each identified SPARQL feature has at least two implementations."

<steve> W3C's Current Practices for Presenting Dispositions of Comments

<steve> http://www.w3.org/2006/08/Current-DoC-Practices.html

SPARQL XML Results CR will be from 24 Sept to 9 Oct

Steve: any features as risk?

LeeF: no

<steve> http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-XMLres/

LeeF, http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/rf1/ should be identical to http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-XMLres/ apart from SOTD

LeeF: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/rf1/ should be identical to http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-XMLres/ apart from SOTD

-> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/rf1/ editor's draft

Steve: patent policy issues? disclosures?

LeeF: none

Steve: need to:
... .. update status of these two comments
... .. director's decision
... on behalf of the director, I approve this transition, contigent on the WG deciding not to take up the arbitrary embedded XML feature request
... do you see much take-up of SPARQL?

LeeF: maybe SPARQL's wierd, but I'm not used to seeing this level of interest in a spec that's not a Rec
