Remote desktop viewing - Adobe/Macromedia Breeze - http://www.adobe.com/products/breeze/ - to view someone elses desktop, you just needed to login to the NIH Breeze server. To share your screen, you needed to install a plugin. I used it to demo an imaging application and the performace (compared to tools such as VNC) was considerably better.
