What Is Needed (Technically)?
- To make metadata machine processable, we need:
- unambiguous names for resources (URIs)
- a common data model for expressing metadata (RDF)
- and ways to access the metadata on the Web
- common vocabularies (Ontologies)
- The “Semantic Web” is a metadata based infrastructure for reasoning on the Web
- The “Semantic Web” is a metadata based infrastructure
- for reasoning on the Web
- It extends the current Web (and does not replace it)
