ISSUE-191: Where does WML fit in?
Where does WML fit in?
- State:
- CLOSED
- Product:
- mobileOK Basic tests
- Raised by:
- Charles McCathieNevile
- Opened on:
- 2007-03-16
- Description:
- LC-1637 [1] Asks whether the intent of the tests is to exclude WML.
My proposed response:
Effectively this means WML 1, and the answer to that is \"Yes\". (Since
the current versions are fast converging, and since IIRC we now accept
a range of nearly-right content types, this is not as strict as the
Best Practices requirement to actually work for the future). Also, if
you happen to do content adaptation, and serve WML 1 to things known to
accept it but not things unknown or known not to accept it (DDC,
Internet Explorer, ...) then you have no problem.
It is only if you *only* serve WML that the particular URI you serve it
from is not going to be mobileOK.
This was a scoping decision made at the beginning of the exercise...
