The Federated Social Web Community Group has the following goals:

  • Advocate for the federated social web
  • Provide a neutral forum for people developing federated social web software to share information and ideas
  • Help implementers of federated social web technologies understand and use the tools available
  • Set goals for federated social web technologies, like SWAT 0
  • Support specific federated social web protocols and suites like OStatus
  • Identify missing pieces of the federated social web puzzle and help develop new protocols to fit those needs
