<SRT> Addressing trying to org a F2F in Vancouver in Jan 06

<SRT> Both Description/Addressing meeting at tech plen

Choreography trying to organize a F2F in December

(could be the last one)

Action items

<scribe> ACTION: Hugo to (possibly) work on an updated glossary and bring it for review [IN PROGRESS] [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action01]

SRT: I noted that IBM tends to use choreography when they actually mean orchestration
... I got an IBM rep last week at a conference to admit that our definitions made more sense
... orchestration is about the centralized control of services
... and choreography is a description of a set of behaviors; it lives higher up in the stack
... it does mean that an updated glossary has its use

Hugo: I need to integrate some Addressing terms
... then we'll try to get consensus to publish it

<scribe> ACTION: [DONE] Mike to present one-way MEP/binding plan to XMLP WG [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action02]

<scribe> ACTION: [DONE] SRT to put RDF mapping for WSDL2.0 on next call [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action03]

<scribe> ACTION: Put on agenda for next call (Adding semantic to web services technology) [IN PROGRESS] [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action04]

<scribe> ACTION: [DONE] SRT to check with Eric on Sweb to see if any comments have been sent and if not to encourage them to do so if they have issues. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action05]

Group reports

-- Choreography

Martin: we are preparing for the call with the Director to go to CR
... we are waiting for Yves

MSM: how long is CR are you expecting?

Martin: until the end of the year
... we already have an implementation
... the WG is having a bit of a rest, but we are also working on the primer

-- Description

Hugo: we're now back in LC

<SRT> Made progress at the F2F. Another in one month and hopefully we shall be able to go to LC.

<SRT> Unknown is the HTTP bindings - not as carefully thought out as we would have liked. So this may cause some change.

<SRT> RDF mappings: we got a significant draft from J and the group agreed to publish as first WD. We have been asked to do a REC and the WG feels they lack expertese in this area to justify a REC approach.

<SRT> We shall be going to the Sweb CG to discuss this to see if we can get progress from them.

-- Protocol

<SRT> They have been working on a new charter (including one-way binding work)

-- Addressing

<SRT> F2F couple of weeks ago. We received six comments that were all addressed. One comment does require schema change which may have a knock on effect to the namespace.

<SRT> So we shall only change the namespace if we have to do so.

<SRT> Meeting start Nov Tokyo - in good shape to hear about impl reports. Although PR is set for January. And interop is set v.high with 4 impls.

<SRT> WSDL bit and async is still an issue. We recommended that XMLP do one-way bindings to do the SOAP part. And to correct HTTP one-way bindings by sending an HTTP 202 back. We voiced our support for the functionality with the WSDL WG.

<SRT> Proposal for this is still to come.

-- SWS IG

Carine isn't around

-- SW

<SRT> Some surprise was expressed that SPARQL did not ask Description for a review of their work - bizzare given the protocol is expressed in WSDL.

<SRT> ACTION: Hugo to check with Dan Connoly to find out what has happened. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/10/11-ws-cg-minutes.html#action06]
