Reports

Choreo -

Is in last call - since just before Xmas. Thus far 1 reviewer has come back with comments. LC ends end of Jan.

Jonathon: Will be designating someone to deal with CDL comments and will get comments back to WG as soon as possible.

Mark: Same as Jonathan

Description -

Jonathan is plugging along scheduled for CR in Oct. Doesn't think that Oct will be met so may need to inform Director. Strained on resources.

Should be able to address all LC comments by end of this week and re-issue

Addressing -

Mark: Made some requests to add things to calendar which have not been done.

<mnot> http://www.w3.org/Member/Eventscal.html

Michael: Which calendar

(see above)

Mark: Has some templates for attendance to help track standing. Happy to make available.
... Concerned about schedule due to some issues related to SOAP bindings. So for asyc need to have additional SOAP stuff which causes complications.
... Issue 21 "Does there need to be an extension for WSDL to explicitly call out the use of Addressing?"

Because there are at least three ways of dealing with extensions in WSDL we need to understand which is the best way of dealing with this so that we can ensure interop.

<scribe> ACTION: Mark to go back and provide a clear concise description of the requirement so that the Description WG can provide guidance as to how to meet the requirements. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/01/04-ws-cg-irc]

Jonathan: Described the Choreo issue with F&P and asked for further details as to what the requirement actually is.

Martin: <Sorry I missed the response>

<MChapman> basically choreo wahts to stay abstract so any thing related to conrete (protocols, bindings) be solved by wsdl

Mark: Scheduled to go to LC in Jan. Unlikely that we shall make it. Not sure what the delay will be at this time.

XML CG -

Michael: very little to report as there are no exciting developments. Schema WG is close to completing a long stding action item to report to the TAG on XML1.1

Jonathan: Made the point that the data types issue in XML Schema is not resolved by the approach that Schema WG is taking as it does not help specs to be written cleanly and concisely.

Michael: Agreed and said this was something that needed to be addressed.

Hugo has some action item concerning this which may need to be recast in coord group.

<scribe> ACTION: SRT to check with Hugo on above item [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/01/04-ws-cg-irc]

SWSIG -

Carine: Starting to discuss more issues. Sent email to IG to review Choreo.

AOB

SRT: Mentioned conf call between large bank, RuleML, and Eric Miller. Said large bank is working with said organisations and individuals hope to publish a write up of problems with policy based discovery and list key requirements - watch this space,.
