Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI)
- URI has two different uses:
- Unambiguous name for something
- Location of a document
- URIs can be used to identify definitions for concepts
- Especially useful for ontologies & metadata
- Examples:
- http://www.example.org/index.html#section2
- mailto:steve@w3.org
