Goals of our Research and Development

Our goal is to provide technologies that can be used to "sign enable" critical Web resources, with an emphasis on making educational content available to elementary and middle grade students.

This includes using the full expressive power of sign language, which uses not only the hand/arms, but also the face, body, and direction of gaze to express concepts, as shown in the images below.

Moreover, we wish to provide this sign language access in a manner that is cost-effective to create, edit, and disseminate via the Web.
