Currency Conversion and Formatting
- Never a good idea to make currency part of locale
- Monetary units always have to be attached to the data
- For formatting, use ISO 4217, or customary designations (e.g. US$,
SFr.), rather than simple symbols
- Don't implicitly convert currencies
- Offer links to conversion engines or inline approximate conversions
- Web Services may provide explicit (backed-up) conversion
