Title: Liaison Statement to W3C

We are pleased to inform you that MPEG (ISO/IEC JCT 1/SC 29/WG 11) is starting a new activity on Lightweight Scene Representation. This activity targets compression and streaming of vector graphics as well as aggregation of compressed vector graphics with audio and video data. You will find attached the Draft Call for Proposal on this project.

Since this activity relates to the work done in your SVG group, and that MPEG intends to achieve as much as possible compatibility with your SVG specification, we are interested in initiating a liaison with you on this topic. As a first step, we would be interested in getting your feed-back on our Call for Proposal, which will be finalized in our Munich meeting (15th to 19th March).
