Formal status agenda item to be removed for now
Martin: need to setup a review time - to review current PDF
Steve: probably beyond group's ability to review - relying on the experts
Martin: need to make sure group members have read it, and think it is covering the appropriate topics
Martin: we have to make a motion at some point, so will need to read it
send links please to the public list then ...
Steve: Chairs will put motion on agenda to formally adopt working note
NEW ACTION: Motion on 19th Dec to vote on working note for formal semantics
Link to formal semantics: http://www.w3.org/2002/ws/chor/edcopies/theory/note.pdf
Chairs to send link to PDF to ensure members review by 19th Dec
9. Implementation status
SRT emailed swedish contact to see about alternative implementation
Yves has managed to get a 3 month extension to the charter!!!
Martin: back to primer - when will the next version be available?
SRT: Next version should be available first meeting of new year (16th Jan)
NEW ACTION: 5th January to publish next version of primer
10. Issues
Issue 3484
- dealt with in last meeting
Issue 3568
- no proposals
- Remove this issue from the list until proposal raised
Monica: A choreography initiator interaction MAY be defined within a root choreography or within an enclosed choreography. In either case the collaboration is established when the first choreography initiator interaction is performed.
Issue 3843
NEW ACTION: Tidy up section 5.7 initial paragraphs that talk about initiator interaction
Notification issue
Martin: understands requirement for notification, to enable server to send message back to client
Martin: does not understand how with current WS technologies, how can guarantee usage without binding problem
Steve: How do we see C-CR-1002 in relation to this issue
Steve: Namely "choreography MUST be independent of implementation technology"
Steve: And how do we see C-CR-2301
Steve: "A choreography language MAY provide a mean by which a choreography description can be bound to technologies other than WSDL 2.0."
Steve: And what about:
Steve: <roleType name="NCName">
Steve: <behavior name="NCName" interface="QName"? />+
Steve: </roleType>
Steve: where QName is optional.
Martin: we as a group should be focused on web service capabilities, and in this context there are problems with bindings for representing notifications
Martin: I am aware I being a web service purist here
Monica: Agrees with Martin - CDL in current version has significant leaning to WSDL
Monica: questions where now is the right time
Martin: +1 to monica
Martin: Steve that optionality is because some roles are client ones and dont provide WSDL, not that WSDL itself is optional
Gary is prepared to withdraw proposal.
Martin is prepared to accept proposal if a binding can be shown to work with WSDL 2.0 and WSDL1.1 (have I got this right?)
NEW ACTION: Close notification issue, pending further demonstration of the ability of bindings to support it
NEW ACTION: Chairs to liase notification binding issue with CG meeting
NEW ACTION: Process for applying edits to spec
