- The current spec lists a fixed set of lifecycle events, with the \'data\' event as
the extension point. It might be simpler to define a general <event name=\"..\">
structure, and then convert the current list of lifecycle events into a reserved
list of event names. So the IM and modality components could send any events
they wanted using this generic structure, but would be required to behave in
