The primary use case is for efficient streaming of EMMA.
Note that we're not talking about correcting a previous result, but adding new data. Could you take a "ref" to another emma document, and say everything that we don't change is still valid. For example, just keep updating "interpretation" or "one-of". need an identifier like "doc-ref" that tells the processor what this is an update to. new update needs to have a reference to the document that has the information that's not changing.
This may be best done in a separate spec from EMMA. There are many issues. At some level this may turn into a way to describe updates to arbitrary XML documents, although there may be special cases for EMMA that are less complex than the full problem.
