Issue scope (from original framing of the issue):
Given that binary infosets (currently, binary PSVIs ) is what I work on daily and that I am currently investigating ways in which they could fit naturally into the web (content-coding registration for instance), I would be very interested in knowing what -- if anything at this point -- the TAG thinks of them and of how they could best fit in. [It's not clear who is being quoted here, but it is not me - Noah]

Status:
Information provided by Taki Kamiya in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-tag/2009Mar/0003.html suggests that EXI is working in two areas that are related to previous discussions with the TAG. These areas are a) deciding whether content-encoding is an appropriate means of signaling use of EXI and b) updating the analysis of EXI performance to demonstrate that the goals of the project have been met. See also http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-tag/2009Mar/0102.html which is a note from Noah Mendelsohn updating the status of the TAG's work on this issue.

Other notes:
Larry has suggested helping EXI refactor their spec and help them interact better with IETF re: content-encoding. (See http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/tag/2009Feb/0035.html)

Henry has alerted us that EXI may be reconsidering the content encoding decision. (see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/tag/2009Feb/0037.html)
