Description

As the publisher of the STW Thesaurus for Economics, the ZBW - Leibniz Centre for Economics provides experimental thesaurus web services for use by humans and by machines. In the first instance these services are designed to support query expansion in the context of information retrieval applications.

Within our own applications, particularly these services proved useful:

• /suggest - for feeding autosuggest boxes; suggestions resulting from SKOS altLabels and prefLabels linking to SKOS concepts (example)
• /suggest2 - dito, for large datasets with lots of similar entries, e.g. personal name authority of scientists in economics (example)
• /combined 1 - Combined information for retrieval services, delivers terms and SKOS concepts for arbitrary query strings (enriched by narrower and related concepts)
