“Terminology-level” triples as part of R2RML mapping output

State:
POSTPONED
Product:
R2RML
Raised by:
Richard Cyganiak
Opened on:
2011-03-22
Description:
As currently defined, the output of an R2RML mapping is an RDF dataset that contains triples reflecting the records in the database. The output is thus on the "instance level".

A feature under discussion is the additional generation of an RDF Schema or OWL Ontology that reflects the constraints and valid inferences over the classes and properties in the generated dataset. This output would be on the "terminology level".

On June 28, 2011 the working group resolved:

Resolve ISSUE-36 as POSTPONED. The initial version of R2RML will not provide special features for creating schema triples.
