Alosia Technology has developed a suite of next-generation, patent-pending security products in the area of B2B XML messaging. The process of key management in an XML-based environment is a fundamental process that enables the functioning of our products. While Alosia has solved the problem of key management in a proprietary way, we have no direct IP interest in the process and further recognize the desirability of an industry standard approach for the obvious reasons.

Therefore, our interest in the W3C XKMS Workshop

• Contribute to the discussion on XML Security application key management requirements.
• Ensure that, whatever the result, the workshop is informed by real-world needs.
• Come away from the workshop with enough information to anticipate the impact of an agreed-upon standard on our product line.

In summary, our interest is simple: we are involved in this problem space, we have a certain amount of expertise in the area, and feel that we can both contribute as well as benefit from participating in the process.
