Current Situation
The Internet and services based thereon like WWW, file sharing
sytems (Napster, Gnutella & Co.) and Usenet are enabling the
unlimited exchange of data.
The origin of the data is not obvious. The owner cannot
efficiently control and enforce them rights.
Where digital copying and distribution in the Internet is not
controlled, there is a potential shift in generating revenue to
the disadvantage of the legal owner and to the benefit of the
infringing party.
