Status of this document:

This is a draft for consideration by the WAI guidelines workings groups: Authoring Tools (AUWG), User Agent (UAAG) and Web Content (WCAG). It has not been approved by anyone, and represents an attempt to provide an RDF scheme which can be used to specify conformance to the guidelines or to checkpoints within the guidelines that are produced by those groups.

This document may change or be obsoleted at any time.

How it works

This document specifies several RDF properties, and assigns them meanings when they are used as descriptions of a relationship between an authoring tool, user agent, or a resource on the web, and the URI of a dated version of, or a checkpoint within a dated version of, one of the following WAI Guidelines documents.

http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#notApplicable
Means the checkpoint is not applicable in assessing conformance of the specified resource to the guidelines of which it is a part
http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#meets
Means the specified resource conforms to the checkpoint. This has no meaning for conformance to one of the guidelines, or to a checkpoint of realtive priority, since a conformance level must be specified.
http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#fails
Means the specified resource does not conform to the checkpoint, or does not conform to the guidelines at any level.
http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#levelA
Means the specified resource conforms level-A to the specified guidelines document or relative priority checkpoint
http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#doubleA
Means the specified resource conforms double-A to the specified guidelines document or relative priority checkpoint
http://www.w3.org/2000/01/wai-conform-rdf#tripleA
Means the specified resource conforms triple-A to the specified guidelines document or relative priority checkpoint

Note that conformance is defined by each of the relevant guidelines documents, and that claims of conformance may be made by any party. A claim of conformance does not imply endorsement by any party except the claimant or endorsing body.
