This page explains the requirements and procedures for participating in the RDIG. It also explains how to contribute to the Interest Group by subscribing to the group's mailing list, monitoring the group's progress, and contributing on that list.

Subscribing to the mailing list

The RDIG mailing list archives are publicly available and can be read by anyone. If you would like to monitor the work of the Research and Development Interest Group and contribute on-line, you may subscribe to the RDIG mailing list.

To subscribe to the RDIG mailing list:

  1. Request a W3C Access Account:

    You should receive your W3C login name and password within 2 business days.

  2. After you receive your W3C login name, request to be added to the RDIG mailing list by sending an e-mail:

Planning events

If you would like to become a regular contributor to the RDIG, please follow the steps appropriate to your association with the W3C.

If you work for a W3C Member organization...

  1. Read the RDIG Charter. Contact Shadi Abou-Zahra with questions.
  2. Ask your W3C Advisory Committee Representative to fill out the Nomination Form (as soon as it is available). For help identifying your Advisory Committee Representative, please contact Shadi Abou-Zahra.
  3. After your AC Representative has nominated you, complete the Member Access Request Form.
  4. After you receive your account, complete the Joining the RDIG Form (as soon as it is available).

If you do not work for a W3C Member organization...

If you do not work for a W3C Member organization, but you feel you have the expertise and availability to participate, you may apply to become an Invited Expert.

  1. Read the RDIG Charter. Contact Shadi Abou-Zahra with questions
  2. Ensure that you can comply with the terms in the W3C Invited Expert and Collaborators Agreement. If you are able to comply, complete the W3C Invited Expert Application.

Note: The RDIG is a public interest group and by participating you will not receive access to information that is W3C Member-confidential unless you have been given privileges through participation in another W3C Working Group.
